South Ossetia will hold memorial events to mark the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism.

The Republic will commemorate the tragic events of September 2004 in the city of Beslan, where hundreds of people, most of them children, were killed in a terrorist attack on School No. 1.

According to the Republican Commission for the Preparation and Holding of Nationally Significant Events, the Republic's educational institutions will hold thematic lessons and extracurricular activities.

"Also, on September 3 at 1:00 PM, a memorial event will begin on Cathedral Square (1 Armyanskaya Street) in Tskhinval.

Representatives of the Republic's leadership, heads of ministries and agencies, public figures, and guests of South Ossetia will gather to honor the memory of the victims," the Commission has noted.

Following the event, at 1:20 PM, a flower-laying ceremony will take place at the "Grieving Angel" monument, which has become a symbol of shared pain and irreparable loss.
