The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) should be interested in the invitation of representatives of the countries where human rights are violated, to its sessions, particularly, representatives of South Ossetia affected by the 2008 war, unleashed by Georgia. This was said IA "Res" by the Vice-Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament Yuri Dzitstsoity, commenting on the statement of the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Pushkov, that Russia in the spring session of PACE would raise the issue of admission of representatives of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Transnistria to the PACE sessions after the example of Kosovo.
Dzitstsoity stressed that South Ossetia had repeatedly raised the question of their participation in the meetings of the PACE.

"PACE is a parliamentary organization, which resolves nothing but the issues related to human rights. That is why it must be keen to invite the affected parties, in this case, South Ossetia, to its sessions. Because of the Georgian aggression in 2008 had suffered not any individuals, but the entire Republic of South Ossetia ", - said the Deputy Speaker.
He has noted that PACE often addresses the issues directly related to South Ossetia, while preventing the RSO representatives to attend its meetings.
"In particular, the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia in 2008 is called as the Russian-Georgian war - said Dzitstsoity. - Actually, it was a straight naked aggression, and Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili has already stated it. Ivanishvili even threatened to bring to justice the instigator of this aggression, Mikheil Saakashvili. Certainly in PACE are afraid that the South Ossetian side will raise these issues, and therefore do not want to admit our representatives to its meetings, trying to solve the issues related to South Ossetia, without us. I believe that it is a fundamentally wrong position. "
Vice-Speaker has expressed his gratitude to the Russian representatives in PACE, who continue to insist that both South Ossetia and Abkhazia have to participate in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
