The South Ossetian authorities put off a ban on the passage of vehicles through the checkpoints of the state border with Georgia in a simplified order. The decision was taken at today's meeting of the government of the Republic.
According to the Chairman of the KGB Boris Attoev, the postponement of the implementation of the governmental regulation, adopted in June, 2013, which prohibits the passage of vehicles through these checkpoints, is due to the need to complete the work on the solution of a number of socio-economic issues relating to the implementation of this decision.
The working group is charged to December 1, 2013 to submit to the Government a plan of measures on providing the population of Leningor District with necessary goods and services.
It should be noted that before the entry of the mentioned decision into force, in the territory of South Ossetia is valid the resolution of the government, adopted in 2010, according to which the checkpoints of the state border can be crossed by vehicles and cartage of goods up to 50 kg.
