Attention of South Ossetian people is riveted today to one of the tragic dates in the modern history of South Ossetia. May 20, 1992 on the bypass Zar road Georgian fascists shot a column of cars of civilians on their way to the village of Dzau. 36 people were killed - women, the elderly and children. Dozens of people were injured.

Today in South Ossetia are mourning events dedicated to this sorrowful date.
South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has given today an interview to the Russian mass media.
"The ZAR tragedy for its inhumanity, severity of the offense and the number of casualties sent shudders through the entire civilized world," - the president said in an interview given to the radio "Voice of Russia".
May 20, 1992, the brutalized in their nationalist frenzy monsters shot from ambush innocent women, children and elderly people fleeing from the horrors of the Georgian national chauvinism.
"On this sad day, we commemorate not only those for whom the Road of life has become the road of death, but all the sons and daughters of Ossetia, Russian soldiers and officers - all those who were killed by Georgian aggressors. And today when wars are being conducted in the world, we, who have experienced so much loss and grief, call for peace, "- said the head of state.
