Memorandum on cooperation in the field of information has been signed today by leaders of a number of media in South and North Ossetia.
The Chairman of the State Information and Press Committee of the RSO Vyacheslav Gobozov congratulated the journalists on the Day of the National Media. He has stressed that the signing of the memorandum will give a new impetus to the integration process between North and South Ossetia.
"After the signing of this memorandum will begin a new stage of our cooperation", - said Gobozov.
In turn, the head of the North Ossetian delegation, Assistant Prime of North Ossetia-Alania Chermen Makiev expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the media of the two republics.
"The information that you share, should be interesting, positive. Signing of the cooperation memorandum is long overdue, because people in the north are interested in what happens in the southern part of Ossetia, and vice versa, "- said Makiev.
The Memorandum provides for the creation of conditions to improve the information policy of print and electronic media, organizing comprehensive and effective information cooperation between South and North Ossetia, regular exchange of information, including issues relating to the political, economic and cultural life.
The document also includes joint activities, participation in international conferences, exhibitions and fairs.
For the South Ossetian part the document was signed by Acting Chief Editor of the newspaper "Hurzarin" Arina Tsgoeva, chief editors of the newspapers "South Ossetia" and "Republic" Andrew Kochiev and Robert Kulumbegov, director of TV and Radio Company "Ir" Rada Dzagoeva. For the North Ossetian part – by Deputy Editor of the newspapers "Rӕstdzinad" and "North Ossetia" Aslan Slanov and Ishmael Esiev, chief editor of the newspaper "Word" Albina Olisaeva and chief editor of media portal "Ossetia TV" Karina Gabaraeva.
The Memorandum is written in Ossetian and Russian languages.
Today South Ossetia is celebrating the Day of the National Media. On this day in 1906 in Vladikavkaz was published the first newspaper in Ossetian language - "Iron gazette."
