Having recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, South Ossetia once again declared itself as an independent state with its own vision of the worldwide political processes. This was stated by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov, speaking live on TV "IR."
According to him, on the world stage the theme of South Ossetia in this regard has acquired a new, wider aspect.
"People of South Ossetia have gone through the same hard trials as the population of the Donbass. We have witnessed the horrors of war, and could not but support the people who applied to us for help and recognition, "- said the president.
He has noted that the Foreign Ministry of the Republic is given clear instructions on the implementation of presidential decrees to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
"The Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia is instructed to establish diplomatic relations with these countries," - said Leonid Tibilov.
The President has stressed that South Ossetia intends to develop relations with other countries which have recognized it and to continue activities for further recognition of the sovereignty of the Republic.
"Our foreign ministry is working with many countries, including the countries of Latin America and African countries. I`d like to note, that our steps meet serious obstacles, but we're not going to stop. However, we have to be careful,"- said the president.
