Professor of the Agostinho Neto University (Republic of Angola) Muraz Kozonti has recently arrived in his homeland. Today, on the invitation of the rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev, Muraz Kozonti has given a lecture on the role of higher education in a society for the staff and students of the Department of History, Philosophy and Political Science.
Vadim Tedeev introduced the Professor and gave him a photo album with views of South Ossetia.
"Professor Kozonti has arrived in South Ossetia and visited our university - said Tedeev. - We have agreed with the professor to give a lecture on "The role of higher education in today's global world" for the South Ossetian State University staff and students, and it should be noted that the lecture was very interesting. We are always pleased to welcome our compatriots, professionals in various fields of science, who live outside of South Ossetia. "
Kozonti has said that it is always very nice to come home and enjoy its beauty.
"I have not seen anywhere else in the world more beautiful mountains than in South Ossetia, so why we cannot live and create here at the same level," - said the professor.
Muraz Kozonti was born in the village of Ruck, Dzau district of South Ossetia. He graduated from the school in 1954, then the Stalinir State Pedagogical Institute. He defended his PhD in Vladikavkaz (North Ossetia). Then he was the editor of the magazine "Latin America", published by the USSR Academy of Sciences, then a translator at the United Nations. Muraz Kozonti speaks several languages. For many years he has been working in Angola and has lectured in Portuguese. In Africa Kozonti along with his main job was studying the Alan`s history from India to Africa. Here he found archaeological evidence of the presence of the Alans and wrote 12 studies on this subject.
