The new agreement on alliance and integration between South Ossetia and Russia is very important and significant for the security and socio-economic development of the Republic, said South Ossetia Prime Minister Domenty Kulumbegov during a press conference in Tskhinval.
"Currently, the draft Treaty is still under development, on its improvement are working members of the political council under the president and the working group. I do not want to run ahead and say exactly what the pros will give us the treaty, but I think that the document is important and significant for the Republic ", - he said.
He has recalled that in the recent history of South Ossetia were two referendums where the population clearly expressed an opinion on the issue of integration and joining Russia.
"I believe that any move in this direction should be supported as much as it allows our Constitution and the willingness of our strategic partner," - said the prime minister.
Kulumbegov has also noted that the most important component of the new treaty will be to ensure the security of South Ossetia, as the Republic has still not received security guarantees from its aggressive southern neighbor.
"The second aspect is to improve living standards, social issues. I'm sure that the working group will draw up a document that, without violating our Constitution, will serve the interests of both Russia and South Ossetia ", - concluded the Prime Minister.
