Murat Dzhioev and Dusan Ignyatovich discussed the issues to clarify the fate of the missing persons

May 16th Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev received an independent international expert on criminal investigations Dusan Ignyatovich engaged by invitation of the OSCE in investigating cases of persons to be listed as missing as a result of the Georgian aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia in 2008.
According to the press service of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, "Murat Dzhioev has noted the great work carried out by Mr Dusan Ignyatovich to clarify the fate of the missing persons and expressed hope that this work will be continued. It was noted that the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report submitted by Mr. Ignyatovich on the results of his investigation, once again convincingly support the conclusion of the independent experts of the Council of Europe, engaged in the 2009-2010 investigation cases of missing persons, on the responsibility of the Georgian police authorities for the disappearance of the residents of South Ossetia ".
The meeting, during which was expressed the willingness to continue humanitarian and humane working to clarify the fate of missing persons, was also attended by the Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights of South Ossetia Inal Tasoev.
On the same day, Mr. Dusan Ignyatovich met with relatives of the missing, representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of South Ossetia, and also had a conversation with the ICRC office in the Republic of South Ossetia.
