South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev, along with diplomats from other countries, took part in a study tour to the central part of the island of Nauru, where the country's main strategic raw materials – bauxites- are extracted.
According to the press service of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry, the trip was organized for a group of guests from the Republic of Nauru; шn addition to the Foreign Minister of South Ossetia, President of the Federated States of Micronesia Peter Christian and Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Australia and the Republic of Nauru Grigory Logvinov took part in it.
In the framework of official events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Nauru, it has also taken place the opening of an ethnographic village in the town of Yaren.
"Here were presented traditional constructions, tools, household items, belonging not only to the residents of Nauru, but also to the inhabitants of Fiji, Tuvalu, Guam, Micronesia.
The presentation was opened by President of Nauru Baron Waqa, inviting distinguished guests to get acquainted with the national culture of the island inhabitants of Oceania, "the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry noted.
At the end of the event, it took place a concert with the participation of national dance groups, as well as a group of acrobats from the Republic of Taiwan.
