Deputy Prime Minister - Economic Development Minister Gennady Bekoev called the participation of the South Ossetian delegation in the Yalta International Economic Forum (YIEF) as another window of opportunity for the Republic of South Ossetia, the press service of the government of South Ossetia informs.
“Participation in the YIEF of our delegation led by President Anatoly Bibilov was marked by a number of important agreements that will allow our Republic to develop relations with the Republic of Crimea not only in trade and economic terms, but also in scientific, technical, cultural and educational spheres. At the forum we talked with representatives of the business communities of the DPR, the LPR, Syria, as well as Italy and Africa with whom, as it turned out, we have a lot in common in terms of economic cooperation. In addition, during the forum it was decided to create a South Ossetian trading house in the Crimea where all our industrial products will be presented, "said Bekoev.
According to him, another important achievement in the framework of the YIEF is an agreement between the Ministries of Economic Development of Syria and South Ossetia on the establishment of an intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and cultural cooperation.
“In the next month we will have to approve the composition of our part of the Commission. It will be headed by the Chairman of the Government, Eric Pukhaev,” said Gennady Bekoev.
He has also noted that this year the Forum gathered one and a half times more participants than last time, which speaks about the authority of the Forum.
“We are not participating in the Forum for the first time, and I should note that every year the YIEF becomes more and more prestigious, and its participants traditionally expect good results from interaction with entrepreneurs and experts from different countries. We have seen a friendly, open for dialogue Crimea, appreciated its high economic potential, in turn told about the opportunities of South Ossetia, outlined plans for cooperation that now need to be implemented,” concluded Bekoev.
