President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, took part in the second meeting of the South Ossetian-Russian Joint Demarcation Commission, the press service of the head of state reports.
The South Ossetian party at the meeting was represented by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy for Post-Conflict Settlement Murat Dzhioev (Chairman of the South Ossetian delegation), representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the KGB Border Service, the Russian party-by the head of the delegation Vadim Postnov, representatives of the FSB, the foreign Ministry, the Department of geodesy and cartography of Rosreestr, etc .
Anatoly Bibilov highly appreciated the work carried out by the Commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the border, noting that in fact this work is coming to its logical conclusion.
“I want to thank you for such really painstaking, to some extent even tedious work, because it is connected with papers, cards, etc. But you coped with it perfectly,” said the head of state.
He has also expressed the hope that someday the South Ossetian-Russian border will still become administrative.
“Not all states in the world today have settled issues of administrative borders. There are many examples where the demarcation has not yet been carried out. And even in this regard, your work is of particular respect,” he said.
For his part, Vadim Postnov has emphasized that the work of the Commission is based exclusively on good-neighborly foundations and is taking place in the spirit of constructivism.
“We very quickly find a common language and come to a single solution. This is only the second meeting, but we have already developed and intend to sign today a whole series of instructions and rules that will allow us to go into the field in practice, create a demarcation map, determine the places for installation of border marks,” he said.
