The meeting of the delegations of South Ossetia and Syria took place on the forum’s fronts, within which the establishment of Consular offices or Diplomatic Representations in Tskhinval and Damascus was worked out, the press service of the Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation reports.
Riyad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Russia, has noted that he was pleased with our invitation to the forum and the first day was certainly devoted to the meeting with the South Ossetian delegation. R. Haddad thanked President Anatoly Bibilov for his attitude to the people of Syria, noting that communicating with such a person is an honor and considers it his duty to convey the attitude of the people of Syria to the people of South Ossetia.
The delegations discussed issues relating to trade, economic and cultural interaction between the two states, in particular, the creation of expo centers for the placement of South Ossetian and Syrian products in Tskhinval and Damascus. Syrian Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Samir Khalil invited President Anatoly Bibilov to the exhibition to be held on August 28 in Damascus.
On June 6-8, a delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia headed by Chairman of the Government Eric Pukhaev is taking part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2019). Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev, Deputy Chairman of the Government - Minister of Economic Development Gennady Bekoev, Minister of Finance Aza Khabalova are also taking part in the Forum.
