Even the smallest threats to the security of the Republic of South Ossetia should be excluded
The head of the KGB of South Ossetia, Oleg Shiran, reported to President Anatoly Bibilov on the situation in the area of the border village of Uista (Tsnelis) in Znaur district of the Republic.
"As part of the execution of your order and the implementation of a special humanitarian operation, the KGB border service officers went to the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia with Georgia in order to ensure the safety of the inhabitants of this settlement and restored state symbols on the border of South Ossetia. At present, the situation is calm, the personnel are fulfilling tasks within the framework of the current state border protection regime, "said Oleg Shiran.
Anatoly Bibilov has emphasized that to ensure the safety of residents is the most important task facing the state.
"I would ask that in the future you step up efforts to prevent possible risks. Residents should feel safe no matter where they live in the Republic. Even the smallest threats to the security of the Republic of South Ossetia should be eliminated," the President said.
Oleg Shiran noted "the high return of the personnel, the high awareness of this complex task and the readiness of each the KGB and Border Service officer to do everything necessary for the security of their homeland."
Anatoly Bibilov asked to convey his gratitude to the staff involved in providing the special humanitarian operation, and instructed the head of the KGB to provide them with comfortable conditions of service.
“I know that the road has already been laid to the post, all other conditions must also be ensured. There must be an appropriate designation of the state border, as well as other generally accepted requirements for the state border,” said Bibilov.
He instructed the State Security Committee to study "other areas on the border of the Republic, where there may be some threats to the annexation of the territory by Georgia."
The Chairman of the KGB assured the President that his department was carrying out such monitoring.
“We have identified a number of areas where there is still work to be done. The State Security Committee is ready to fulfill any assigned tasks,” Oleg Shiran said.
