Anatoly Bibilov signed a decree on updating the composition of the Commission on the Memorialization of the Genocide committed against South Ossetians by the Georgian Democratic Republic in 1920, the Republic’s State Committee for Information and Press reported.
“By the decree of the President, the commission has included Prime Minister Eric Pukhaev (Chairman of the commission), First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Petr Gassiev, Minister of Education Natalie Gassieva, Presidential Plenipotentiary for Post-Conflict Resolution Murat Dzhioev, Minister of Culture Zhanna Zasseeva, Rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev, Chairman of the Committee for Information and Press Maria Kotaeva, Director of the South Ossetian Research Institute Robert Gagloyty, Chairman of the Public Chamber Anatoly Dzhidzhoyev, heads of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice Aza Khabalova and Zalina Lalieva, representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office and others, ”the State Committee said.
The first meeting of the Commission will be held shortly.
The Commission on the Memorialization of the Genocide Committed against South Ossetians by the Georgian Democratic Republic in 1920 was established in 2015. In June 2020, South Ossetia will mark the centennial of genocide.
