Embassies in Syria and South Ossetia can be opened at any time, the problem is the processes that are taking place in Syria in connection with the situation there,” the head of state said, answering a journalist’s question about the development of bilateral relations and the opening of diplomatic missions.
According to him, the top leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic is occupied with internal political problems. “As for the development of economic issues between our countries, Deputy Prime Minister- Minister of Economic Development Gennady Bekoev is constantly in touch, and now the issue of opening a trading house in South Ossetia in Syria is being decided, our embassy in Russia is working very closely on all these issues. And I think there is a prospect for the development of our bilateral relations,” the head of state said. He has added that South Ossetian entrepreneurs and their colleagues are engaged in joint business and there are steps in specific areas.
Investors in South Ossetia
Anatoly Bibilov believes that no any investor can be dissatisfied with the conditions created for them in the Republic. In his opinion, a wine factory and apple orchards near the village of Khetagurovo have been working quite effectively over the years. “Despite the certain difficulties that entrepreneurs faced, who expressed a desire to plant hazelnuts in Znaur district, this project will take place. It is socially oriented, and investors are trying to convey this position to the population, and most of them are understanding it. In general, we have an incomprehensible situation: an investor enters South Ossetia - stones are thrown at him, he doesn’t enter - stones fly to the leadership. And they want to make a resonant situation out of this issue, and, unfortunately, rely on small problems,” Bibilov emphasized.
The head of state noted that if three investors came to the republic with serious intentions and a good investment, this is already good for South Ossetia. According to him, these investors with their capabilities and actions tomorrow will prove to others who may be interested in investing in South Ossetia that there is no need to be afraid and everything is transparent. “The officials will do everything possible to make the business feel comfortable in the territory of South Ossetia,” the President said.
