Restrictive measures imposed on the border of South Ossetia with Russia in connection with the threat of coronavirus should be maintained and control should be strengthened, President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov said on Tuesday at a meeting of the operational headquarters for countering the penetration of coronavirus.
“We know that the number of patients with coronavirus is increasing in North Ossetia, this is alarming for us ... The measures taken in South Ossetia ensure the security of the Republic. In no case should be weaken control. It is clear that a certain discomfort is created for people, there is a kind of cost, but I am grateful to the people of the Republic for their understanding. Thank God, we have not yet recorded a single case of infection with a coronavirus,” Bibilov emphasized.
At the same time, according to the head of state, everything possible must be done so that there is no shortage of food and essential goods in the Republic.
“Citizens should feel the comfort, which in principle is maximally created under the existing realities,” the head of state said.
The President also drew attention to the need to amend the government decree on the extension of quarantine measures.
“In the first half of the month, as you know, we are waiting for weekend, this is until May 1 and May 9. Therefore, it is necessary to create conditions for citizens so that they do not go to work and do not pose a threat of coronavirus,” Bibilov emphasized.
