South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov instructed the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee to "be prepared for any development of the situation."
Medical facilities that provide outpatient and inpatient care, and provide emergency medical care, are instructed to ensure readiness to receive and promptly provide assistance to patients with respiratory symptoms, taking biological material from patients for examination for coronavirus infection COVID-19.
"We must make every effort to prevent the virus from penetrating into the Republic," Anatoly Bibilov said at a government meeting on Thursday. He also called the decision to send the mechanical ventilation devices to fraternal North Ossetia to be correct, which caused a mixed opinion in society.
The Ministry of Health is instructed to ensure the isolation of persons arriving on the territory of the Republic for a period of 14 calendar days, as well as those with symptoms of COVID-19 coronavirus infection from the moment of detection. The resolution makes it possible for persons who are subject to self-isolation to issue certificates of disability without visiting medical organizations.
All information regarding medical monitoring of persons in self-isolation should be provided to the epidemiological authority.
The Health Ministry will ensure the implementation of a complex of anti-epidemic measures against persons suspected of having a COVID-19 coronavirus infection. It also envisages the introduction of restrictive measures in all medical organizations of South Ossetia, ensuring compliance with the anti-epidemic regime.
In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs was instructed to promptly inform the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee about the violators, and to assist the epidemiological department, as well as the Health Ministry in implementing the measures provided for by this government decree.
In particular, the Interior Ministry should take measures to prevent the mass movement and crowding of citizens in public places, as well as to restrict the movement, without special need, of official and private vehicles in the territory of South Ossetia.
