There are no new cases of coronavirus infection in South Ossetia over the past 24 hours, there are 70 people quarantined, Anna Gagloeva, Deputy head of the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, told IA “Res” on Thursday.
On the morning of May 28, there are 8 people in the isolation ward of the Republican Medical Center including two cadets, four citizens who have returned through the Russian consulate, among them an eight-month-old child, as well as two medical workers who are preparing for discharge.
“The 12 tests carried out during the day (1299 in total) showed a negative result,” the sanitary doctor said.
According to Gagloeva, 53 people are in medical institutions of the Republic.
The first three cases of coronavirus infection in the Republic were recorded on May 6.
Last week, the government of the Republic made a decision to extend the closure of the border between South Ossetia and Russia until June 30. The measures taken do not apply to citizens of South Ossetia returning according to a specially developed schedule through the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Republic. The checkpoints with Georgia are also completely closed.
