The Defense Ministry off South Ossetia annually during the festive events celebrates the contribution of fighters of self-defense units to the freedom and independence of the state.
According to the press service of the Defense Department, Minister of Defense Ibrahim Gasseev awarded medals “For military valor” of the 1st and 2nd degree to war veterans.
In the difficult years for the Republic, during the formation of statehood, during the confrontation with the enemy, examples of courage and heroism of the defenders of the homeland were shown. They, as part of self-defense units, were defending the state sovereignty of the young Republic.
The award ceremony was held in the office of the public organization “Adaemon nyfs”. Ibrahim Gasseev expressed his gratitude to the veterans for an active life position, wished them health, long life, success in their activities.
During the conversation, which took place in a warm atmosphere, Minister of Defense invited veterans to visit the training center and the military training ground, to observe the process of combat training, to recall their skills and to perform various shooting exercises themselves.
The Defense Minister also noted that not a single defender of the Republic would be left without attention from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
On behalf of the awarded, Rodion Gagiev expressed his gratitude to the Minister and the entire Defense Ministry for their attention, high awards and timely support.
“There are many problems, but we know that they are on the agenda and we hope that with your help we will find their solution,” he said.
At the end of the event, Gasseev spoke about the prospects for the development of the national army, improving the infrastructure. In particular, the meeting participants were invited to a military camp, where a Memorial Complex is being built in memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.
