President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has received a delegation of the Donetsk People's Republic, headed by the Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR Vladimir Bidevka, which arrived in Tskhinval to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia, the press service of the head of state reports.
Greeting the guests, Anatoly Bibilov noted that he was immensely glad to see the friends of South Ossetia.
“Vladimir Anatolyevich, dear friends! Thank you for taking the time to come to our holiday. 30 years are associated with the steadfastness of the Ossetian people. Every Ossetian is proud that he has withstood so many trials and still achieved what he was striving for - independence,” he said.
The President has stressed that today the Republic is building relations with many countries, including the Donetsk People's Republic.
“I want to thank Denis Vladimirovich Pushilin for the support he renders to our Republic. Humanitarian aid in the form of medicines is a proof of this,” he said, adding that in the future, cooperation between the two republics will increase.
Anatoly Bibilov has also expressed concern about the actions of the Kiev authorities in relation to the DPR. He has stressed that the failure to fulfill the obligations assumed by Ukraine has led to certain tensions in the Donetsk People's Republic.
“It is, of course, sad that many do not understand that one must live in peace and good neighborliness, but I am sure that the aspiration that the people and the leadership of the Donetsk People's Republic have will lead to the normalization of the situation. I wish you victory,” the President said.
In turn, Vladimir Bidevka thanked the President for the invitation and warm welcome.
“The people of South Ossetia have passed a long way, have passed it with dignity, but, unfortunately, also with losses. People put themselves on the altar of the struggle for independence, achieved their goal. South Ossetia is the established state that today is extending a helping hand to other fraternal republics,” he stressed.
Vladimir Bidevka conveyed the best wishes to the South Ossetian people from the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, noting that the Donetsk People's Republic remembers how in 2014 the Republic of South Ossetia came to the rescue.
