An Agreement between Russia and South Ossetia on mutual recognition of documents of servicemen will be submitted to the presidium of the Parliament

The issue of ratification by the Parliament of South Ossetia of the Agreement between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing disability of persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia and persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, signed on February 17 in Moscow, was discussed at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Relations held on Friday. According to the press service of the legislative body, the meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the profile committee Zaza Driaev.

According to him, the document was submitted for ratification to the Parliament by President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov in accordance with Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of South Ossetia dated 25.12.2007 “On international treaties of the Republic of South Ossetia”.

“The Agreement regulates the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing the disability of persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, as well as persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in order to acquire by the said persons, at their choice, the rights to pension benefits under the legislation of the Republic of South Ossetia or the Russian Federation ", - said Zaza Driaev.

He has added, that the Agreement applies to citizens dismissed from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation, who became disabled due to injury, concussion or illness received during military service in South Ossetia.

The document will improve the social security of these categories of citizens and, in general, meets the political and economic interests of the Republic of South Ossetia. All necessary accompanying documents are attached to this Agreement.

At the meeting, it was decided to submit this bill to the Presidium of the RSO Parliament.

Deputies Elena Dzhioeva, Atsamaz Bibilov, Malkhaz Gagloev, as well as a lawyer Mziya Lapachi and representative of the control and legal department of the Parliament Alan Sanakoev took part in the work of the Committee.
