A delegation from South Ossetia on Tuesday arrived in Luhansk for events marking the seventh anniversary of the storming of the Luhansk building of the Security Service of Ukraine in 2014.
In Luhansk, on April 6, 2014, participants in the anti-Maidan actions stormed the SBU building, and at the end of the month the Luhansk People's Republic was proclaimed.
The delegation of South Ossetia left for on the invitation of the Prosecutor General of the Luhansk People's Republic Sergei Gorenko on a two-day visit, within the framework of which a number of official events and meetings are planned. The delegation gas included representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic Magomed Bagaev has told reporters that the visit will last two days, during which members of the delegation will take part in a number of events and meetings. Official events began with the laying of flowers at the "They defended the Motherland" memorial.
"We are very pleased that very friendly relations have developed between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Lugansk People's Republic. Cooperation is very fruitful," Bagayev told reporters.
It should be reminded, that there are several cooperation agreements between the republics. South Ossetia is still the only state that has recognized the Luhansk People's Republic.
"South Ossetia is still the only state that has had the courage, honesty and loyalty to recognize the LPR. Today's visit is not just a visit, it is not just a symbolic gesture or an act of goodwill, but a vital step forward," said the representative of the General LPR Prosecutor's Office Inna Semenova.
