On Saturday, President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov expressed condolences to President of the Artsakh Republic Araik Harutyunyan on the occasion of the next anniversary of the genocide of the Armenian people.
“April 24 is the day of remembrance of the bloody events that went down in the history of the Armenian people as Mets Yeghern, the day of remembrance of the victims of this tragedy, called upon to remind the world of the terrible crime committed against humanity,” the President's telegram reads.
The President has noted that on this day of remembrance, South Ossetia, together with all civilized humanity, joins Armenia and Artsakh, the Armenian communities around the world in their feeling of grief for the many lost lives.
"I am convinced that genocide, the victim of which the Ossetian people have become more than once in their history, is a crime that has no statute of limitations and the world community must remember every such atrocity in order to prevent their repetition in its history," Bibilov said.
The head of the South Ossetian state also sent a telegram of condolences to the people of Armenia.
