Acting Head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Sergei Menyailo and Speaker of the Parliament Alexei Machnev sent a telegram to President Anatoly Bibilov with words of support in connection with the 29th anniversary of the Zar tragedy.
"Today is a day of memory and sorrow for all the people of Ossetia - 29 years ago, on the Zar road, the armed forces of Georgia shot a convoy with refugees. One of the most bloody and inhuman acts took the lives of 33 civilians in South Ossetia.
The pain of this tragedy continues to this day.
We are expresspng the words of support to the families and friends of the victims, to the entire people of South Ossetia, who could courageously and steadfastly endure this blow, not break down, not lose faith in the future.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish you peace, stability and all the best, "says the message of Sergei Menyailo.
Sergei Machnev, Speaker of the RNO-Alania Parliament, stressed that "the history of the united people of Ossetia is overshadowed by many mournful dates."
