South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee reported on new data on coronavirus disease recorded over the past day.

As reported to the IA «Res" on Wednesday by the head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee Marina Kochieva, according to the results of the tests, out of 85 samples, 13 showed a positive result.

"Currently there are 56 people under the supervision of doctors, five more people have been removed from the medical register," Kochieva said.

The number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 3415, 3359 people have recovered. In total, during the pandemic in South Ossetia, 23,695 tests were carried out for coronavirus infection.

The head of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee appealed to the residents of the Republic with a recommendation to get vaccinated against coronavirus and follow preventive measures.

Over the past week, there has been a slight increase in the number of cases, while the epidemiological situation in the Republic is stable.

“We insist and recommend vaccinating those who have not yet been ill, since one cannot relax,” she said.

It should be noted that since the beginning of May, free vaccination of the population against coronavirus by the Russian "Sputnik V" is under way in the Republic, more than 270 people have already been vaccinated.
