On June 29, 2021, the remains of Anatoly Archilovich Khodov, a resident of the village of Khod in Tskhinvali district of the Republic of South Ossetia, who had been listed missing since 2009, were handed over to his family for burial. "The work on the identification of remains has been carried out since 2018 and took place within the framework of the Coordination Mechanism for the Search for Persons missing as a result of the armed conflicts of the 1990s and 2008, established in 2010 under the auspices of the ICRC, and was completed as a result of the joint work of its participants. - Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary for Post-Conflict Settlement, the General Prosecutor’s Office and the International Committee of the Red Cross," Tasoev said.

According to him, the collection of information necessary for identification, laboratory tests and conclusion were carried out with the assistance of the ICRC, at the request of which an independent group of forensic experts and anthropologists from Argentina was involved in the work.

"On the basis of a comparative analysis of DNA, collected posthumous and lifetime data, a final conclusion was made about the belonging of the remains to Anatoly Archilovich Khodov," he said.
