Head of the Department of Anesthesiology, Reanimatology and Neonatology of the M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University, Doctor of Medicine Andrey Kolesnikov, answering the questions of the South Ossetian journalists, denied the version about the effect of the vaccine on reproductive function.
According to him, an acute illness with a coronavirus infection itself can cause damage to the endocrine system; such damage does not occur from vaccinations.
Kolesnikov stressed the need for vaccination. “Any pandemic is the time when conspiracy theories are discussed. But you need to be vaccinated. Vaccination is needed, otherwise we will not survive,” he said.
According to Andrei Kolesnikov, this is not the first time he comes to South Ossetia, now he has visited the Republic on the invitation of the Ministry of Health of the republic. The main goal is to share experience with the South Ossetian colleagues.
Doctors also spoke about plans and opportunities for effective cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
