The South Ossetian State Drama Theater took part in the international festival of national theaters, being held in Makhachkala from September 28 to October 5.
As noted by the artistic director of the theater Tamerlan Dzudtsov in his interview with IA
"Res, " the performance of the South Ossetian troupe was the last one at the festival.
"We presented the play" Julius Caesar "(directed by Tamerlan Dzudtsov) to the audience. Our theater was the honored guest of this festival, at the same time we were awarded a special prize for modern reading of classical drama. According to him, in addition to South Ossetia, 19 national theaters took part in the festival, including from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Abkhazia, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Bulgaria, Adygea, Kalmykia, etc. The festival jury included well- known figures of culture, theater critics, playwrights.
The play "Julius Caesar" based on the play by William Shakespeare, translated by the wll-known Ossetian writer Nafi Dzhusoyta, presented at a festival in Dagestan, was restored this spring.
People's artists of South Ossetia Wilhelm Khasiev, Soslan Bibilov, Vasily Tekhov, as well as honored artists Soslan Dzhioev, Jean-Jacques Kharebov, Batradz Kumaritov and an artist Eduard Gagloev are involved in the performance.
The play "Julius Caesar" was also presented at the festival of the Russian national theaters, which took place in Chechnya in mid-September.
