In one of the private houses on Dachnaya Street in Tskhinval, a local resident discovered a shot from an RPG-7 (reusable hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher), the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia told the “Res” news agency.
The rescue department has noted that the sappers promptly went to the ground last Saturday, examined the adjacent territory of the find and took the shot for further destruction.
“Another call to the control room came from the village of Sver, Tskhinval district, where local residents also found ammunition. In particular, they found: hand grenades F-1 and RGD - 5, one unit each, as well as cartridges of different calibers,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted.
All finds were neutralized and taken out for further destruction. Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia once again appeals to the citizens of the Republic to be careful, in case of detecting suspicious objects, immediately call the emergency department, and in no case try to take measures to neutralize the ammunition themselves.
