The delegation of South Ossetia will take part in the elections of the President of Nicaragua and legislative bodies on November 7 as observers, the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic told the “Res” news agency.

Representatives of the Presidential Executive Office and the legislative body of South Ossetia will be observing the voting in the friendly country.

“Our representatives, consisting of three people, accompanied by Ambassador of South Ossetia to Nicaragua Narim Kozaev, on the invitation of the Nicaraguan authorities, will be observing the voting process, how it will be proceeding in a legal way. We are confident that the elections there will be successful,” the agency's interlocutor said.

The presidential elections in Nicaragua, which are held every five years, will be held on November 7, in which more than ten political parties will participate. The ruling Sandinista National Liberation Front on August 2 approved President Daniel Ortega and his wife, Vice President Rosario Murillo, as a pair of their candidates.

President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov paid an official visit to Nicaragua in July 2019. At the same time, with Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega, they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on a wide range of issues.
