In South Ossetia on Friday, a new power transmission line will be put into operation, which will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the Republic, President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov said at the expanded meeting with the participation of Deputy Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev, Head of the Russian President's Office for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Igor Maslov and other members of the Russian delegation who had arrived in the Republic .

“We all know how important the new power line is for the Republic. There was a time when the population was left without electricity for a week or even longer.

The reserve power transmission line is of strategic importance for the Republic and its launch will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, "the President said.

The construction of the additional power line to South Ossetia was carried out by the Federal Grid Company of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Investment Program for the Promotion of Socio- Economic Development. Investments in the project amounted to 1.7 billion rubles.
