President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov has made a statement in connection with the situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"With deep concern we are following the events unfolding over the past days in the Republic of Kazakhstan, where a number of regions have been engulfed in riots. The escalation of riots accompanied by acts of looting and vandalism, violent actions by the militants who seized weapons arsenals has led to the death of people," the head of state said in a statement issued on Saturday.
According to the President, the active role of external forces, "directing and coordinating the militants, acting according to the" manuals "of coups d'etat, worked out in the countries that have already become the victims of" color "revolutions, is obvious.
"Under these conditions, the actions of the country's leadership, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to conduct a counter-terrorism operation in order to ensure the safety of civilians and the state, as well as the decision of the heads of the CSTO member states to send a contingent of the Organization's Collective Peacekeeping Forces to Kazakhstan for a limited period of time are fully justified and adequate to the situation," Anatoly Bibilov has noted.
- We are convinced that the leadership of the country, the people of Kazakhstan, with their adequate and proportionate actions, will not allow the positive accumulated by the country to be destroyed, will rebuff any provocations, will not allow the situation to develop according to a negative scenario. We proceed from the fact that the development potential, the improvement of the welfare of the country and its citizens can be realized only in conditions of restoring stability and further consolidation of society".
