On Friday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia issued an appeal to the residents of the Republic who ended up in third countries in connection with the events in Ukraine.

"Currently, citizens of the Russian Federation temporarily staying in third countries are having difficulties returning to the Russian Federation by air as a result of the suspension of air traffic with a number of foreign states. A similar problem also arises for foreign citizens traveling home in transit through the territory of the Russian Federation ", - says the appeal of the Foreign Ministry, posted on the official website.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that in this regard, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia, who simultaneously have Russian citizenship, can contact a tour operator, airline, diplomatic mission or consular office of the Russian Federation in their country of their staying regarding their return.

"If the listed options are not suitable for solving the problem that has arisen, they can leave a request on the help.mid.ru portal. At the same time, citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia who do not have Russian citizenship have the right to apply for the protection of their rights and interests to a diplomatic mission or consular office of the Russian Federation in accordance with the bilateral agreements in force between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation," the Foreign Ministry explained.
