The state TV channel of South Ossetia turns 28 today. On March 16, 1994, the first broadcast of the state television was broadcast on the screens.
In connection with the significant date, the event was held with the participation of the head of state Anatoly Bibilov. The President, congratulating the employees, touched upon the history of the creation of television, noting the work of those who stood at its origins and today's team.
“Dear friends, I want to sincerely congratulate you on the 28th anniversary of the founding of our television. We know perfectly well the conditions under which everything was created, and for this we are very grateful to the people who were at the origins of the formation of the state television. The archival footage shows how hard it was for TV people to work, basking near the stoves. In such conditions, only a team that is sincerely in love and devoted to its profession can develop. This desire to do something new and necessary for Ossetia has borne fruit. Not only me, I am sure, all the people are grateful to you for your hard work, thank you,” the President said.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the development of television and radio is being felt. He remembered what the TV building looked like five years ago.
“Somewhere there were holes from shells, pipes were sticking out somewhere. If not completely, then a lot has been done to ensure that today the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Ir" works in good conditions. They made studios, renovated offices. Now it is important to develop the programs themselves, perhaps to introduce new programs on the air. In my opinion, we need analytical programs, the guests of which would be oppositionists, people working in the executive branch, so that there is a lively dialogue that allows us to look for the ways out of problem situations. To voice opinions, proposals, directions that contribute to the development of the Republic. Such broadcasts are absolutely necessary,” the President believes.
Anatoly Bibilov has also noted that it is imperative to fight against fake information.
“Problem points should be discussed so that reliable information is covered as a result, therefore live communication and programs are urgently needed by our television and people. I believe that a higher, creative approach to the development of television programs is needed. I am sure that our television people will have enough imagination to create interesting programs for the audience,” the President said.
In honor of the holiday, Anatoly Bibilov signed a number of decrees on presenting awards to the employees of. the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company "Ir".
“The President is giving all awards on behalf of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia. I believe that these awards are the gratitude of the residents for your work,” the head of the Republic has added.
For merits in the field of domestic journalism and many years of fruitful work, the title of Honored Journalist of South Ossetia was awarded to Batradz Khuriev, Ekaterina Bagaeva and Regina Chertkoeva.
The state awards were also presented for conscientious work in the media of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Anatoly Bibilov once again congratulated the television staff on the holiday and wished them health, creative success and well-being.
