The Supreme Court of South Ossetia upheld the draft presidential decree on calling a referendum

The Supreme Court of South Ossetia found no violations in the documents submitted to the court on Friday by incumbent President Anatoly Bibilov on setting of a referendum in the Republic on the issue of unification with Russia, the press service of the court told the IA “Res” on Friday evening.

"The Presidium of the Supreme Court of South Ossetia, having considered the materials of the case on the verification of compliance with the requirements provided for by the Constitution (Basic Law) of the Republic in the documents and materials attached to them sent to the court by the President, having examined the documents provided, unanimously came to the conclusion that no violations were committed and decision to recognize legal draft presidential decree "On calling a referendum of the Republic of South Ossetia" on the issue: "Do you support the unification of the Republic of South Ossetia and Russia?"

Anatoly Bibilov set a referendum on the unification of the republic and Russia on July 17, 2022 by his decree on Friday. The decree was published on the website of the head of South Ossetia.
