On Tuesday, in Tskhinval, a memorial plaque in honor of the Day of the adoption of the Act on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia was unveiled on the wall of the Parliament building.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Republic, deputies of the first and subsequent convocations, representatives of the ministries and departments.
As the Acting Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Zhanna Zasseeva told the IA “Res”, the memorial plaque is a reminder of the most important day for the Republic - May 29th.
“Exactly 30 years ago, the important event took place, this is the most significant holiday for us. The names of the deputies must be immortalized so that people know that the heroes are with us. The board indicates that it was in this building that the crucial decision was made,” Zasseeva has noted.
It should be noted that on May 29, 1992, the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Act on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. According to the document, “the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia is indivisible”, and only the Constitution and laws of the Republic of South Ossetia are in force here.
On the basis of the Act, all state attributes were adopted, the necessary institutions of power in South Ossetia were formed.
