South Ossetia has given the last honors to a volunteer Alan Bagaev, who had perished during a special military operation in Ukraine.

The leadership of the Republic headed by President Alan Gagloev, friends of the deceased, members of the public came to give the last honors to the hero, the presidential press service reports.

The words of deep sorrow to the relatives and friends of Alan Bagaev were expressed by the head of state.

“With pain in my heart, I bow my head to the family of the hero who showed unshakable courage and bravery during the special military operation in Ukraine. We are seeing off the last journey of a warrior who gave the most precious thing - his life - for our peaceful future," said Alan Gagloev.

The President has stressed that the Ossetian volunteers are showing fortitude in preventing the further spread of fascism.

“For us, the loss of even one person is tragic. God forbid that there is no more sad news and our guys return home alive,” he said.

By the decree of the head of state, Alan Bagaev was awarded (posthumously) the Medal "Defender of the Fatherland".
