The days of Ossetian culture were held on the weekend in Novorossiysk — with colorful music, an excursion into history, beautiful costumes and national treats, the official website of the city administration reports.

The event took place thanks to the victory of the national public organization of Ossetians in the competition of municipal grants, as well as with the support of the Novorossiysk city public center.

The city theater became the main venue for the events. Here the audience was presented with a documentary film "Ossetia and the Ossetians of Novorossiysk".

"A colorful story about the historical homeland of this people, the beauties of nature, traditions that persist today, unique architectural monuments - ancestral towers, as well as the famous Ossetian heroes, which our city is also proud of. Acquaintance took place with the local Ossetian national and cultural autonomy. Officially, this young public organization was registered only in May 2021, but it has been operating and helping the residents of the city for a long time," the website says.

The special flavor of Ossetia was felt by the audience at the concert, when the guys from the Caucasian dance group “ART” performed with incendiary numbers. They were supported by members of the Orchid vocal studio and the exemplary choreographic group Hummingbird.

And in the foyer of the theater, an exhibition of unique Ossetian household items, paintings and books about the heroes and the history of this people awaited the visitors of the holiday. The exhibition featured many interesting ancient objects of cultural heritage - from an old baby cradle to a wedding dress. There were traditional bowls, cauldrons, devices for the production of woolen threads, amazing folk musical instruments, on which, by the way, everyone could play something.

Of course, the guests were able to taste the famous Ossetian pies and a traditional drink, without which no celebration can do without Ossetians. The tasting was carried out according to all traditions. And the next day, those who wished took part in a master class on making pies, where they learned with what fillings this dish is made today, how it is baked and why there should certainly be three types of pies on the table of Ossetians.
