Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Alan Tadtaev took part in the online meeting of the Russian deputy group for Russia's relations with the Parliament of South Ossetia, the press service of the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia reported.
"The issue of bilateral relations between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation was discussed at the meeting. The issue of simplifying the system for obtaining temporary import of vehicles was put on the agenda. They also discussed the importance of studying the opinion of the people of South Ossetia on the issue of integration, reunification and cooperation with the Russian Federation," the press service said.
The Speaker addressed his words of welcome to the working group of inter-parliamentary friendship, as well as to the entire deputy corps of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
“It is very pleasant that a group on mutual relations has been created and is working between the parliaments of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.
The South Ossetian group is constantly in touch and ready to work. I am also glad to welcome representatives of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, because it is this ministry that has been working out plans for socio-economic development together with the government of South Ossetia for our Republic.
From year to year, the implemented Investment Program has a positive impact on the population of South Ossetia - this is the construction of socially significant facilities, and wage increases,” the Speaker of the Parliament said in his video message.
Alan Tadtaev also noted the importance of developing a comprehensive plan for socio-economic development of our Republic for 2022-2025, which is being worked out by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation together with the government of South Ossetia, and expressed confidence that with the start of this program, South Ossetia would become independent from external suppliers in agriculture and industrial products.
“Our people remember how in 2008 Russia came to the defense of the citizens of South Ossetia and saved us from total extermination.
We have always associated ourselves with the Russian Federation. The history of our relations lasts for several centuries, starting from 1774. Since then, the Ossetians have never changed their direction to the Russian Federation, striving to live in the same political space with their brothers in the north of Ossetia-Alania. We are one nation, and we are striving for unification as part of Russia.
The people are confident that in the near future, given the global changes that are taking place in the world, Ossetia will unite as part of the Russian Federation, that the voice of the people will be heard,” said Alan Tadtaev.
During the work of the group, a working trip of the Russian delegation to South Ossetia was scheduled, during which it would be possible to substantively work out a number of issues with the leadership of South Ossetia.
