For nine months of 2022, 334 violators of the law in the border area were detained at various sections of the state border of South Ossetia. According to the press service of the KGB, 200 of them are violators of the state border regime, 134 – of the frontier regime.
“The Border Service of the State Security Committee conducted investigations on each fact of violation of legal regimes.
As a result of procedural activities in relation to violators of the existing administrative and legal regimes at the state border, administrative measures were applied with explanatory work, during which 234 people were subjected to an administrative fine, 3 people were expelled from the Republic with the imposition of penalties, 34 people were expelled from the Republic under Art. 14 of the law "On the State Border of the Republic of South Ossetia" without penalties, criminal cases were initiated against 11 people, 52 people were warned," the press service said.
The KGB border service reminded that in order to obtain a pass to the border zone, foreign citizens can apply to the KGB border service in person or through their representative - a citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia (inviting person) to submit an application.
“The applications must be attached: for citizens of the Russian Federation - photocopies of passports with a registration stamp, for other foreign citizens - photocopies of passports with a registration stamp and documents confirming temporary registration at the place of residence in the territory of South Ossetia, (in case of stay in the territory of the Republic more than three days) and photocopies of migration cards with appropriate seals,” the committee said.
The press service has added that the consideration of applications and the issuance of passes are carried out within ten working days.
The KGB Border Service draws the attention of residents of the Leningor and Dzau districts, who move from the 20th to the 30th day of each month through the Razdakhan and Pereu IGGPs, that in accordance with paragraph 1 of the decision of the Security Council of the Republic of South Ossetia of August 18, 2022, it is necessary to make a replacement (extension) passes expired by November 30th.
From November 30, 2022, the passage of citizens with expired documents through these IGGPs will be prohibited.
