Parliamentary Association of the North Caucasus contributes to the development of democratic norms - Alborov

A meeting of the Council of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association is taking place in Pyatigorsk, in which a delegation of the Parliament of South Ossetia is taking part. The Republic is represented by Chairman of the Legislative Body Alan Alborov and Chairman of the South Ossetian Parliament Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Zaza Dryaev, the press service of the Parliament reports.

Addressing the parliamentarians of the North Caucasus, Alan Alborov noted the results of the Association's activities to develop inter-parliamentary relations in the region.

“Over the years of the Association's activity, a lot of work has been done on inter-parliamentary cooperation, coordination of the activities of the legislative bodies of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, on the development of parliamentarism and democratic norms,” said Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia.

He expressed his gratitude to the Association, the parliaments of the region for the support provided to South Ossetia and stressed the relevance of the issues discussed for the Republic.

“With special gratitude, I want to note the support provided by the Association to South Ossetia all these years. The topics of today's meeting are relevant for our delegation. "Mashuk Knowledge Center" is the unique platform for the patriotic education of youth, strengthening ties between young people from different regions of Russia and other countries, for the implementation of interesting projects. The youth of our Republic also takes an active part in these programs. The experience of such an innovative training center is useful for us, as well as the implementation of the Federal Law of Russia “On Conducting an Experiment on the Development of Resort Infrastructure” in the Stavropol Territory. The development of tourism, resort recreation, the creation of the appropriate initiative, the development of a legislative framework in this area are of great interest to us,” Alborov has emphasized.

During the meeting of the Council of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association, topical issues of interaction between the legislative bodies of the members of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association, as well as the activities of the state autonomous institution of additional education "Mashuk Knowledge Center" and the implementation of the Federal Law of Russia "On conducting an experiment on the development of resort infrastructure" in the Stavropol Territory are also being discussed.

The event has also included the signing of the agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Duma of the Stavropol Territory and the Parliament of the Chechen Republic.

The Parliament of South Ossetia became the associate member of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association. The decision to join the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia was adopted by the fifth parliamentary conference of the Association on June 8, 2013 and contributed to the deepening and development of relations between the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia and the parliaments of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the field of state-legal, socio-economic, cultural and interethnic cooperation.
