President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad thanked Alan Gagloev for the position of South Ossetia and condolences in connection with the victims of the devastating earthquake that had hit Syria on February 6.
"The Syrian people highly appreciate the position of South Ossetia, which has shown a high human and moral sense and has taken the initiative to support them in their plight," reads the text of the telegram published on the official website of the President of South Ossetia.
It should be reminded, on behalf of President Alan Gagloev, a collection point for humanitarian aid was opened in Tskhinval for residents of Syria and Turkey affected by the devastating earthquake. In addition, a charity concert was held in the capital of South Ossetia with the participation of children's choreographic groups of the Republic in support of children affected by the natural disaster in Syria. All funds will be spent on the needs of the children of Syria.
