The date of August 8, 2008 has forever gone down in history as the day of the dastardly attack of Georgia, instigated by the West, on the South Ossetian sovereign country. This is stated in the telegram of condolences from the Acting Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin to President Alan Gagloev in connection with the 15th anniversary of the August 2008 war.

Pushilin has stressed that people of South Ossetia defended their independence, but at the cost of serious losses.

“We will always remember the numerous victims of this criminal plan; remember the unscrupulous propaganda methods that accompanied this provocation for the Western man in the street. Fortunately, justice prevailed: Russia intervened, and the aggressor was dealt a resounding defeat,” the telegram published on the official website of the President of South Ossetia says.

On behalf of residents of Donbass, Pushilin expressed sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who died in those bloody days.
