South Ossetia intends to expand comprehensive cooperation with Crimea - Dzhussoev

Issues of cooperation between South Ossetia and the Republic of Crimea were discussed at the working meeting between Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to President of the Russian Federation Georgy Muradov.

According to the press service of the government, Muradov is in Tskhinval on an official visit on the occasion of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the recognition of South Ossetia by Russia.

Georgy Muradov noted that he was glad to be in hospitable Tskhinval again, especially on such a significant occasion, thanked for the warm welcome and congratulated the head of the government and the entire Ossetian people on a significant date on behalf of the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov.

Georgy Muradov invited the leadership of the Republic to take part in the VI Yalta International Economic Forum, which, tentatively, will be held in October 2023.

“We have signed a number of agreements under which cooperation between Crimea and South Ossetia is gaining momentum. I am sure that your participation in the upcoming forum in Yalta will be productive for both republics,” said Georgy Muradov.

He has also reminded that Crimea and Ossetia have common areas of history, in which there are still many unexplored layers, and noted the importance of interaction in the scientific, cultural and educational fields.

Konstantin Dzhussoev thanked the Crimean party represented by the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov for the congratulations and invitation to the forum, having stressed that it is important for South Ossetia to build up comprehensive cooperation.

“We intend to expand and strengthen comprehensive ties with the Republic of Crimea. Participation in forums of this magnitude always brings results both in terms of experience and in a practical sense. It is important for us to develop trade and business ties to promote industrial goods and tourist product. In recent years, we have completed several investment projects, we have plans for the near future, and we have something to offer potential partners,” said Konstantin Dzhussoev.

At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged memorable gifts.

For the South Ossetian part the meeting was also attended: Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Dzambolat Tadtaev and the head of the administration of the city of Tskhinval Romeo Khugaev, for the Crimean part: Head of the Department of Official Events at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Crimea under President of the Russian Federation Leonid Mironov.
