In South Ossetia, on Saturday, a volunteer Artur Khachirov, perished in the course of combat missions in the zone of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, was escorted on his last journey.
Arthur was 33 years old. He is survived by five children.
Condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased were expressed by President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic Alan Alborov, the MPs, the Defense Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia Marat Pavlov and other heads of the ministries and departments.
During the memorial service, it was noted that the Ossetian people were rich in brave guys who, from the moment of the struggle for the independence of South Ossetia to the present day, show heroism, defending the freedom of civilians in the Donbass.
“If it were not for the heroism of such sons of Ossetia as Arthur, we would not live today. He went to the republics of Donbass to protect civilians, because he himself knew well what war is, our people have experienced aggression from Georgia more than once,” it was noted during the farewell rally.
By the decree of the head of state, Artur Khachirov was awarded (posthumously) the medal "Defender of the Fatherland".
