The national flag is a symbol of the country and its people, a connection that ensures the continuity of traditions and customs between generations. This is stated in the congratulations of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of South Ossetia to the people of South Ossetia in connection with the celebration of the National Flag Day.
“It is the state flag that is the face of the republic in the international arena, confirmation of its existence as an independent subject of international law. We wish the people of South Ossetia good health, happiness, well-being and further prosperity of their Republic,” the Embassy’s congratulation reads.
On Tuesday, September 19, South Ossetia celebrates the National Flag Day. The white-red-yellow tricolor was approved as the state symbol of the Republic of South Ossetia on January 13, 1992, when the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Law on the State Flag. The official celebration of the National Flag Day began in 2013.
