Minister of Culture Rada Dzagoeva, on behalf of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, awarded the Order of Friendship to the New Museum of Contemporary Art Aslan Chekhoev for active work in preserving the national cultural heritage and contribution to the popularization of domestic art, the press service of the Ministry of Culture reports.
“The New Museum of Aslan Chekhoev actively supports Ossetian artists, providing a platform for organizing exhibitions in the cultural capital of Russia,” the statement of the press service reads.
In the spring of this year, the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the President and the assistance of the New Museum of Aslan Chekhoev, opened another exhibition of brush masters from the Republic of South Ossetia in St. Petersburg - in the city on the Neva, young artists of the Tschinval 5 creative association Georgy Shavlokhov, Karina Dzigoeva, Maria Kokoeva, Maria Doguzova and others presented their works for the first time.
The Minister thanked the director of the New Museum, Irina Kochieva, and the chief curator of the museum, Fatima Kochieva, for their willingness to cooperate and great assistance in organizing and holding exhibitions of the Ossetian masters, having noted that South Ossetia appreciates their contribution to the popularization of national culture outside the Republic.
The Minister has also expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
