The exhibition took place within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia and the M.I. Rudomino All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature. It presented the paintings from two cycles: “Faces of Eternity” and “Convoy of His Imperial Majesty.” Some of the works are included in the collection of the political and public figure and philanthropist - Alexander Borisovich Totoonov.
The guests were able to see the originals of the artist’s works, as well as to hear about the process and history of creation from the author himself.
“To touch the theme of celestials, one need certain qualities and time. I tried, but it didn't work. I decided for myself that the time had not yet come.
After several years, working on a completely different figure, I caught myself thinking that I had made a portrait of Tutyr. It was some kind of hint from above that the time had come, and then I started working with “Celestials”. The work on this series took a total of 15 years.
The work on the “Convoys” took 33 years, and yesterday I finished the last two portraits,” shared Igor Lotiev.
The visitors were impressed and were talking with the artist for a long time, interested in the details of the paintings.
