Delegates from South Ossetia took part in the X regional conference of Russian compatriots from near abroad countries in Bishkek. Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots (KSORS) in the Republic, Svetlana Kotaeva, told IA “Res” about this.
The conference brought together representatives of the KSORS from 12 countries. Together with Kotaeva, South Ossetia was represented at the event by a member of the public organization of Russian compatriots “Union of Russian Citizens” Zhanetta Gagieva.
“The conference raised the issues of interaction between country KSORS in new political conditions, interaction of compatriot associations with Russian regions, development of cooperation with youth organizations, and activities of compatriot women’s associations. Also at the event they discussed the preservation of the Russian world through the Russian language, culture and science,” Kotaeva said.
She has added that at the end of the event, the delegates adopted the final documents. The statement of the conference participants reflected the reaction to current events in the world and the importance of educating young compatriots based on traditional values. The final resolution outlined the guidelines for the further activities of the KSORS countries.
